Mrs. Hines

Barbara Hines joined GRACEPOINT in 2019 and brings over 40 years of educational experience. She has a BA in Education of Hearing Impaired with a minor in Elementary Education. After teaching hearing-impaired high school students, she began working with Sylvan Learning Centers, eventually owning 3 of them in Macon and the metro Atlanta. After 10 years, she sold her centers and began teaching at a local Christian school in Smyrna.   During her 16 years there, she served as Head of School, Principal, Curriculum Director, Teacher, and Admissions Director. Mrs. Hines is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method for reading. She currently teaches Morphology, Language Arts and  Social Studies to Middle School students. Mrs. Hines and her husband Rob live in Smyrna and attend Smyrna Presbyterian Church. They have two grown daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her family (especially her granddaughters), singing in the choir, reading, spending time at the lake, antiquing, gardening, and teaching kids about Jesus!
